How Our Coaching Works
Trusted by 10,000+ Families Across 30+ Countries
Parents see the difference in their child’s confidence, skills, and interest in chess. Here’s what some of our families have to say.
What parents in India ask.
And if it is not answered here, ask a coach on your free call. There is no script and no sales team — just the person who would be teaching your child.
Three things you can check before you pay anything. The coach holds a FIDE rating you can look up. The class is one-to-one, so the hour is spent on your child rather than on a batch. And the first class ends with an honest assessment of where your child actually stands — not a sales call.
A good local coach is excellent, and if you have one, keep them. The problem is availability: strong rated players are concentrated in a handful of cities and booked solid. Online, that constraint disappears — a child in Indore gets the same Grandmaster a child in Chennai does.
The first class is free and needs no card. Fees depend on how often your child trains and whether they are one-to-one or in a small group, and the coach will tell you honestly on the call which one suits them. Nobody is asked to decide during the demo.
English and Hindi, and several coaches teach in other Indian languages as well. Tell us what your child is most comfortable in when you book, and we will match a coach to it.
Every coach at Kingdom of Chess holds a FIDE rating — the internationally recognised ranking system used by the World Chess Federation. Beyond the chess credentials, every coach completes a structured, child-focused teaching certification with our training team before their first class, covering communication, patience, and how to make learning engaging for children of all ages.
Absolutely — we welcome complete beginners from age 4. The free demo starts with a skill assessment, so the coach can see exactly where your child is starting from, whether they have never touched a piece or already know the basics. From there we build a personalised plan. There is no fixed curriculum to keep up with; your child moves at their own pace.
Apps are good for casual play, but they cannot explain why a move was wrong, spot the pattern in your child’s thinking, or adapt to their particular weaknesses in real time. Every session here is live with a human expert — not a bot, not a video. It is the difference between a child swimming laps alone and swimming with a coach: the coach spots on day one the habit the child would otherwise reinforce for years.
Through our Smart Dashboard, where session recordings, puzzle assignments, assessment results and coach feedback all sit in one place, available 24/7. We run regular assessments and share progress reports with parents.
A laptop or tablet and a stable internet connection. Once enrolled, your child gets their own login to our online classroom — a live board, the coach’s video feed and interactive tools. The credentials work 24/7, so they can revisit lessons and practise puzzles between sessions.
Child safety is non-negotiable. The classroom is closed and invitation-only: your child cannot be contacted by, or interact with, anyone outside their own coach and classmates. Every coach is background-verified and trained to keep conduct professional and age-appropriate. Parents are welcome to sit in on any class.
Chess builds the things school rewards: focus, logical thinking and problem-solving. The curriculum is designed around how children’s brains develop, and most parents notice a difference in classroom performance within a few months.
